Milan and Fiorentina drew 1-1 in the first leg of their Coppa Italia quarter-finals, so it’s all to play for back at Viola Park.
There was plenty of pressure on Fiorentina, who had suffered two defeats already in 2025, but Sebastian de la Fuente’s side responded well. The home side took the lead after Sofie Bredgaard was felled in the box and the referee awarded a penalty, which Emma Severini duly dispatched.
However, Milan equalised soon after the restart through Giorgia Arrigoni and had several other good chances to take the lead. Fiorentina had a chance at the end to win the game but Severini was unable to convert after great work by Miriam Longo.
1-1 is a fair result based on how both sides performed, and it’s not over yet. On January 28 the teams will meet again to determine who makes it to the Coppa Italia semi-finals.
