Raffaele Palladino held a news conference on Friday ahead of Sunday's lunchtime kick-off at home against Torino. Below is a selection of the coach's quotes.

SELF-SCRUTINY – “When the team reported back for training on Tuesday, we all got together to watch the Monza game back and review all the mistakes we made at U-Power Stadium. It was a really good exchange – one of the best I've had in my career."

SHORTCOMINGS – “We need to play more as a team, be tighter as a unit, and attack and defend as one.”

PRESIDENT – “I had a nice chat with the president on Monday and he reiterated his confidence in me. It's reassuring and helps me get on with the job calmly. I'm sure the results will pick up again.”

OPTIONS - “[Danilo] Cataldi won't make it for Torino. [Michael] Folorunsho is fine and he'll be able to help us straight way.”

GUDMUNSSON – “I spoke to Albert yesterday. He needs a bit of confidence. He's trying to get back into his best shape and he's desperate to do well. He needs to get back up to match speed.”

PRADE – “The director wanted to provide a bit of a shake-up. Daniele and I have a great relationship. When Prade speaks, he always says something constructive.” 

CAPTAIN – “The captain is [Luca] Ranieri, a player who came through the Fiorentina academy ranks.” .

BIRAGHI AND QUARTA – “[Cristiano] Biraghi is still a Fiorentina player. [Lucas] Quarta's departure hasn't altered the balance in the dressing room. We're simply going through a bit of a rough patch, which can happen over the course of a season. We're all determined to bounce back.”

CRITICISM – “Criticism can be a good thing but writing things that aren't true doesn't create positive energy. And we need to be positive, not negative. I've understood that in Florence there's a small minority that sometimes enjoys writing something negative that doesn't do anything good for the team.”
