Dodo shared his feeling of regret at what might have been after impressing in Fiorentina's 2-2 draw with Milan.
The right-back nearly capped off a superb display with a stunning volley two minutes from time but it was ruled out for offside.
What went through your mind when you scored what seemed to be the winner?
“I had a brief moment of joy, thinking we'd won it. I didn't see the ref raise his hand for offside.
“It was a difficult game but we played really well. If we carry on playing like this every game, we can keep challenging for the top spots.”
Fiorentina leave San Siro with a sense of disappointment at not having won. Does that show how the team's mentality has grown?
“After we went 2-0 up, we were saying to ourselves out on the pitch that it was a game we needed to win, but of course Milan are a great team too. They have [Rafael] Leao, Theo [Hernandez], [Christian] Pulisic – top players. If we make any mistake, they can take advantage and score.
“We head back to Florence with a positive feeling because we played really well. Now we have to focus on the Conference League, then next Sunday we have another important league match against Parma.”
