Cher Ndour shared his thoughts after Friday's win against Lecce at the Stadio Franchi.
“It's a very important win and it's good for morale. We won as a team, all fighting together. I think we deserved it.
“The new formation probably suits my playing style better but I'm here to help the coach and the team in whatever position and for however many minutes. I'm very happy with this win.
“The boss asked us to play with the right attitude and courage. We all gave everything out there, both those who started and those who came on. It was a hard-earned by deserved win.
“We have a run of tricky games coming up that are decisive for our season. We'll have two difficult matches in the Conference League but this win will give us confidence and help us prepare for the week ahead.
“The goal was a good team move that we'd worked on in training: Dodo getting the cross in and the opposite wing-back coming inside. It was a great move and a big goal for us.
“We had chances to double our lead – with penalty and [Lucas] Beltran hitting the bar – but mistakes are part of the game. The mistakes are not so important as the character we showed to bounce back.”
