Fiorentina Women moved back up to second place after eventually getting the better of Sampdoria thanks to a patient second-half turnaround in Genoa.
The hosts were tactically perfect for the two thirds of the game and took the lead on the half-hour mark through Victoria Della Peruta.
They had chances to extend their lead but were denied by Francesca Durante in fine fettle.
The Viola finally made their breakthrough in the 64th minute when Emma Severini cut inside an opponent on the right side of the box and lifted the ball over the keeper and into the far corner from an angle.
Parity remained until six minutes from time when Alexandra Johannsdottir fired home through a crowd just 23 seconds after coming off the bench, netting her first of the season.
Veronica Boquete wrapped up the win deep into stoppage time.
The three points see Fiorentina leapfrog Roma and Inter into second place (with the Nerazzurre due to play on Sunday). Next Sunday Sebastian Della Fuente's side will host league leaders Juventus at Viola Park for their last match of 2024.
