Fiorentina celebrates the International Day of Persons with Disabilities with a Sunday dedicated to inclusion, at Viola Park and at the Franchi, together with athletes from AC Ossona, QuartoTempo Firenze and the Nerazzurri of Sporting 4E.
During the weekend of matches dedicated to the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, held on December 3, Viola Park hosted a friendly between the Viola of AC Ossona and QuartoTempo Firenze and the Sporting 4E team adopted by Inter. It was a unique opportunity to promote football as a sport for all, without barriers, in a welcome place where everyone can feel part of a big family.
The entire delegation of athletes with cognitive relational disabilities - who play in the FIGC Paralympic and Experimental Football Division - wearing the purple and black and blue colors then headed to the Artemio Franchi to parade on the field before Fiorentina v Inter and receive the embrace of the fans. It was an emotional and significant moment that underlines the importance of joining forces to build an increasingly inclusive kind of football which is respectful of diversity and open to all types of abilities.
The activity part of those planned by Serie A and the club in promoting the message "#ilcalcioeditutti - for football without barriers!" and which includes, among other initiatives, match officials and captains being accompanied onto the pitch by athletes from the Paralympic and Experimental Football Division.
Created in 2019, its objective is the development and spreading of football for people with disabilities and it organizes a seven-a-side football competition which currently involves 250 teams from 17 different regions and has 4,000 registered members including footballers, coaches and managers. AC Ossona and QuartoTempo Firenze have been adopted by Fiorentina for over six years and thanks to football they enjoy an inclusive and convivial experience both on and off the pitch.
